BLACK TEA - BLACK LÉOPARD®

Mariage Frères invites you on a sensory journey to Southern Africa.

At an altitude of 1,150 m nestles a family estate renowned for the quality of its teas for three generations.

Southern Africa is a land of boundless natural resources, with a climate shaped by the rainy season from November to March. Native tea bushes have adapted to this unique terroir, which yields artisanal harvests rich in flavour. The young leaves, freshly picked by hand, are quickly taken to the workshop to be processed into this most distinctive tea. The tea is then delicately smoked over the leaves of the guava trees that grow on the estate.

To enjoy throughout the day, hot or iced.

• Dry leaves: The long, obsidian-black leaves reveal unique notes of smoked ebony, chiselled with a full-bodied, malty veil.
• Infused leaves: The colour of marrons glacés, their heart blends with tonka beans and pink peppercorns.
• Liquor: Clear brown caramel. The smoky, velvety smoothness of the liquor caresses the palate with notes of woody nougat, supported by a glaze of melting dates.

Rounded and flavourful, for aficionados.
