Buds and young unopened leaves are hand-picked and then meticulously dried. This minimal processing and low oxidation produce a delicate, fresh tea with a floral finish and a fragrance of dried peony, elderflower and white peach. ORIGIN: Region: In the Ilam district, in the municipality of Suryodaya. Just 13 kilometres from the Indian border. Plucking: Terminal bud and 1 leaf. Special feature: This new family-run tea factory produces only 50 t of tea a year. The leaves come mainly from 75–80 smallholder families. TASTING NOTES: Dry leaves: Large twisted leaves in coppery and white hues. Attack: Floral and sweet. Heart: Dried peony and elderflower. Finish: White peach and a gentle, lingering sweetness.
