Bamboo matcha whisk - Chasen

The bamboo whisk is the essential accessory for preparing your matcha the traditional way with water, giving a drink with a rich, deep taste and a creamy froth.

Why? A bamboo whisk incorporates air into the drink best, considerably enhancing the aromas and texture as well as creating a pleasant froth.

How to use it:

Soak the whisk in lukewarm water for a few minutes before use to soften it (you can stand it upright in the same pan you are heating your water in). You will see the tips of the tines straighten. Then whisk the matcha with very fast, straight back-and-forth movements (in a straight line, as a reminder 😄) for 1 minute until a fine froth forms. There you are – you can now enjoy the delicate flavour of your matcha.

For best results, whisk well using only quick back-and-forth movements in a straight line (3–4 strokes per second)

After use, rinse the whisk and let it air-dry to keep its shape. Keep it out of the box until it is dry, standing with its tines upwards if you do not have a whisk holder.

We recommend using a whisk holder to extend the life of your whisk and store it easily.
