LUNG CHING "Dragon Well"

This Chinese first-flush green tea is the very first of the year. In an airtight 50 g pack, direct from the producer, this first 2025 harvest retains all its qualities.

A high-altitude cru from the ‘Dragon Well’, crafted between Lion Peak and West Lake in the coastal province of Zhejiang, this spring Lung Ching, picked in very small quantities, reveals a quite simply exceptional finesse.

Leaves: tender, flat, sparrow-tongue shaped, a beautiful pale jade green.

Nose: very expressive, it exudes a floral bouquet and evokes dried fruit and green mango jam.

• Liquor: pale and translucent, it literally bursts on the palate with its lively, structured texture. It develops intense aromas of exuberant, cheerful flowers (iris, imperial peony) joined by rising inflections of nuts (fresh walnuts, chestnut) or lightly toasted notes (pine nuts). The flavour is rich and deep, balanced on a structure that retains the memory of the slow heating of the leaves and leaves an admirably sweet aftertaste.

The favourite green tea of the emperors of China and the ‘Golden Dragons’.

Steeping time: 1 to 2 minutes at a temperature of 60 to 70 degrees. This tea can be infused twice
