Tuocha - shu (ripe) pu-erh

Bird's nest Pu erh tea - Produced in 2018

Pu'Erh bricks are made in the same way as all Pu'Erh; only the final packaging differs. The leaves are hand-picked by Yunnan's ethnic minorities, the only people allowed to harvest the tea trees of the virgin forest.

Once harvested, the leaves are withered, dried and then undergo the sweating fermentation characteristic of Pu Erh teas: the leaves are spread out, moistened and then covered with a tarpaulin. Heat and humidity dry and ferment the tea until a dark Pu Erh is obtained.

Once ready, the leaves are pressed to form the Pu Erh bird's nests, ranging from 10 g up to 100 g for the largest. This way they can age well and improve, like a fine wine, provided they are properly stored. The more tightly the tuocha is compressed, the more slowly it ages.
